Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2017 Lister of the Year Award. In 1991, the Vermont Assessors and Listers Association (VALA) established the Michael P. Cyprian, Lister of the Year Award to honor listers and assessors who:

  • demonstrate fairness to all,
  • are dedicated and helpful,
  • who have pursued better education for the assessment community, and
  • who work to improve the listing process.

The award is named for Michael P. Cyprian, the "ultimate lister." Cyprian was active in his town, volunteering his expertise on many committees. He was well trained as a lister and chose to become a professional appraiser. His 11 years as a lister were characterized by his integrity, his unquestioned fairness, his ability to communicate with the townspeople, his sense of humor, and his professionalism.

Please send your nominations to president@valaVT.org by Friday, June 30, 2017.
